  • 8 medium chicken drumsticks, skin removed
  • olive oil spray (I used my Misto)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp Sriracha hot sauce (more or less to taste)
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 4 tsp agave nectar (or sugar)
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp chives or scallions, chopped
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds

In a heavy large saucepan, brown chicken on high for 3-4 minutes with a little spray oil. Add water, balsamic, soy sauce, agave, garlic, ginger, hot sauce and cook on high until liquid comes to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered for about 20 minutes. Remove cover and bring heat to high, allowing sauce to reduce down, about 8-10 minutes, until it becomes a thick glaze, turning chicken occasionally. (Keep an eye on glaze, you don't want it to burn when it start becoming thick) Transfer chicken to a platter and pour glaze on top. Top with chives and sesame seeds and serve.

~Mmmm now doesn't that look yummy!  I took chicken out for dinner tonight, but I'm just so bored with the ways we usually make it, I could cry.  I want to try something fresh and new as long as it's easy peasy.  See I hate cooking.  LOL  Yes, I hate to cook, yet I'm bitching about the same old same old we do with our meals.  I guess I need to get over my disinterest in traditional kitchen activities and find a way to start liking the task...then, will the meals get better?  ;) ~

Quote of the DayLet all of life be an unfettered howl. Like the crowd greeting the gladiator. Don't stop to think, don't interrupt the scream, exhale, release life's rapture.

  1. What a faboo quote of the day! Live life with gusto.

That recipe looks nummy. Although, I would never remove the skin. People are getting brain diseases 'like mad' in part due to lack of eating fat. Yep, our brains are mostly composed of fat, the good fats... not the crap in processed foods.

I like cooking. However the routine of cooking is another matter. That gets to me. However, in these times, food, good food is sacred.

    1. :D I liked the quote too, Savanna. Gusto indeed!

Yep, fat is a necessity in every healthy diet. The trick is knowing the good from the bad and the appropriate serving size. Sadly, so many (myself included some days) have lost the ability to judge size in the super sized society. :(
