Saturday Sliver

Thought I'd share a bit of what I'm currently working on...

It has yet to be named, which is interesting for me, but the wheels are turning.  Enjoy and have a great weekend!

~~~
Yep, clearly, Emterra had taken too many hits, swallows and pills that one crazy night, but youthful stupidity in the past did not explain the weirdness going on around her tonight. First up on the loony list, Con “speaking” to her, inside of her own head. That was just not possible, right…
“It has to be a drug flashback or a bad trip.” Of course, she no longer took the short road to psychedelic bliss. Self-preservation and a career in law enforcement had curtailed that activity long ago. What was it then, did she just long to hear Con’s voice in her head? Did she miss their youthful hijinx enough to imagine the gothy, witchy faze was real?
“Am I going crazy?” If talking to one’s self and hearing voices was any indication, she’d jumped on the crazy train the moment she stepped foot on this barren tobacco field.
Rain upon my skin
Cools me
Ah, A Quiet Weekend!
So I sent my troop off for some weekend fun, camping at a state park close to home and guess what!  It was so quiet around that I was able to edit a story I'd finished a while ago, just had not been able to get back to.  Yay!
I really like the story.  It has it all-magic, submission and latin phrase fun! :)
I did find however that the story needs more writing to be complete.  My ending worked for me during the initial draft, but upon this re-read, I found it to be unsatisfying.  As did my CP, so back to the drawing board for an improved ending!  Wish me luck!
Have a great week!
Tuesday Temptation - Delicious by Shayla Black
Blurb:  Luc's entire future is planned out-but there is one very sexy obstacle in his path: Alyssa, a strip club owner with whom Luc recently shared one night of wild abandon. It left Luc terrified by his loss of selfcontrol-and Alyssa desperate for more. But Luc is not the only man desperate to have Alyssa...and that's just one of her secrets-secrets as dark and mysterious and delicious as her fantasies.
This story was truly delicious.  The hero has the shiver factor, you know, that quality that makes the reader tingle and sigh.  The heroine is strong yet tender with a kick ass attitude.  It was definitely a tempting read.
What A Weekend!
Hot, steamy weather, cool breezes.  Thunder and lightening.  Downpours, eighty mile an hour winds, tornado's all resulting in a downed trees and a loss of power across the city, but to my knowledge there were thankfully, no deaths.
The loss of power was a pain, although also a very good reminder.  Most of the food in our fridge had to be tossed, which really grinds me. I've seen the faces of hunger right here in our country too many times, so throwing stuff out, disturbs me.  On my to do list this week is a trip to the grocery store and the food shelf with my donations.  I know of a small church run one right in my neighborhood which supports local families.  That will be perfect.
The power outage also threw my writing for a loop.  I got very little done this weekend.  No editing, little blogging and no writing will make this a very busy week for me.  Oh well, such is life, right.  :)
Again there was a positive with the negative.  Sitting in the dark with my hubby and darling diva while the storm pounded around us, we talked about storms we remembered from our childhood, partly as something to do and partly to ease my young ones worry.  As we talked I had an idea for a journal.  One done with my little diva in mind.  I'm going to start jotting down the who, what, where, whens and whys of storms and such for her to have as she grows.  The journal will grow, I'm sure, with firsts and boys and funnies and life, but it will be for her to share with her children, maybe during some frightening storm of their own. ;)
Have a great week!
Friday Flirt - Footwear
Happy Friday!
Today's flirt is great for attracting others, however, I think footwear is more a personal flirt.  How good do you feel with the right pair of shoes.  Tennis shoes with great support, slip-on's that breath, slippers that keep your foot all snugly and warm.
Maybe it's a spiked shoe that makes your legs look fabulous or a pair of thigh high boots that make you feel oh so sexy...
What's Next...
I recently typed The End on my second jaguar shifter rough draft, Yay!
Now, I'm trying to focus my energies on researching the couple of story ideas that have been scratching at the insides of my skull for some time, only, I feel as though I should be writing.
I do try to write everyday to keep myself on the writing track be it blogs or flashes or possible ideas, but it's not the same as writing on a story.  That writing sends you delving into your characters lives, writing them down and sharing them with the world.  It's addictive.
I will not, however, be swayed by my addiction to writing.  I will research, I will decide on the next step and I will plot.
And if my muse does not like that, well, we can go a few mental rounds.  Hopefully, she'll morph into the package above, cause really where's the hardship in going anywhere with that, mmmm.
Wait...that package might ~read, definitely will~ sway me into being naughty.  What to do, what to do....
