And...I'm off

The storyboard is done, the characters are anxious. The authors mind is a flutter with ideas to undertake, but one thing is missing...

Character interviews

I do this for all my characters, I need to know all of the nooks and crannies of them. Favorite song, favorite word, favorite swear word, favorite position, least favorite positions, most loved body part, most hated...the list goes on and on, but I do get a really clear picture of my characters this way.

The big interview stuff is done by now, background, fears etc.. Now it's time for the fun, quirky stuff...

Wish me luck!

Is it Hero envy??

I'm having one of those writing days where I know what I need to do, where my story needs to go and the time to take it there.

Rick, my dark blond haired, six foot tall with dark blue eyes that slip easily past a woman's defenses, hero has been whispering in my ear all morning. All of his deep dark secrets are rolling off his oh so tempting tongue, filling my head and the pages of his story.

Did I also mention that he's a shape shifter? ~sigh~

Woo Hoo...right?

Well it should be, except another hero has decided to take up residence in the background of my mind.

Russian born with nearly black eyes and a buzz cut so short it tickles your hand as you try to grab on. His shoulders are wide, his stomach ripped and naked beneath the full length fur coat he wears. Yes, real fur. His own fur.

Werewolf...

He has yet to tell me his name, but it's clear he wants his story told. Do I dare tell him to wait patiently in line or will that directive get me eaten?

Would that be so bad I wonder?

Wish me luck.....

Walking on cloud nine with a grin eight miles wide!!!

Oh Man, I can't seem to peel this grin from my face. After two years of writing, editing and re-editing I've done it! I've sold my first novella, The Challenge, to Liquid Silver books!!

The Challenge is a story about Jaguar shape shifters Bastian and Marina, mates drawn together for a night of mind-bending sex only to be pulled apart by internal fears. What they didn't expect was a connection to develop which would cause impotence in one while turning the other into a raging sex addict.

Woo Hoo!!! I am so jumping up and down happy about the sale. This has been my dream for years. It's a real kick in the pants joy that it is finally coming true!

Have a great day

The Kissing Parts....

Photobucket

I don't remember being an eight-year-old with any real clarity, must be *old* age setting in. ;-) Now as the mom of an eight-year-old, I feel like I'm getting a brand spanking new education!

My kidlet just recently gave up watching the Disney Channel, with a little *okay a lot* of help from mom. Hard to watch what's not there anymore. Hey, cables expensive. 8-(

Anyway, Kidlet has started to watch "adult" shows, not not those kind, but as I watch with her I have to wonder just how many of them are darn close to those kind.

Her current favs, Knight Rider, Ghost Whisperer and Supernatural. At least until they start in with "The Kissing Parts"

I have to laugh every time we run into a bit of kissing on TV. While I'm sitting there directing the kiss-in my head of course- and hopefully a little second and third base as well, Kidlet is sitting next to me going.."aggg, tell me when it over." LOL

Good thing she's still to young to read my writing!

So the other night, the hubster was home from work and decided to join us for some TV time when shock, on came a Kissing part. Kidlet pipes in with the standard "aggg, tell when it's over" then looks over at her dad and says "Mom likes the Kissing parts." All with perfect disgust oozing out.

Know what dad says?

"I know." The perfect twinkle in his eye as he gave me a wink. ~oh yeah~ Gotta love the subtlety in that look... Whew, how long til bedtime?

Have a great day!
