Wednesday Word of the Day

yaw \YAW\, verb:

1. To move unsteadily; weave.
2. To deviate temporarily from a straight course, as a ship.
3. (Of a vehicle) to have a motion about the vertical axis.

Now here's a word I'd use in a Sci-fi story all right, I'm thinking space travel.  ;)

  1. Now, that's a word I've never fully understood. I've seen it in stories per definition.

    Maybe pirates used it?

  2. Ooh, a pirate story would work too...

The stink of rum rolled off the yawing pirate.

    or

His course was set, straight and true towards the new world though his heart stayed with his lady love. The ship yawed as if begging him to return to her comforting arms.

LOL...Okay, so perhaps that doesn't work as well as I'd hoped it would. ;)
