"And I'm spent...."

So I've finally finished my Holiday story, edited and re-edited it and it is off to my CP for further, "It's not crap." or "Chuck it and try again, dear." LOL

Seriously, I really like the story and the characters are super fun, but the took over as they normally do and insisted that I do some things I was not thinking of doing. Not necessarily a bad thing, just an uncomfortable thing for me, the author!

Now that I've finished, and have a moment to breath, I can catch up on all of the things I let slide for a few days...blogs, my family, my CP's most recent awesome chapter to critique, my family. Think they might want to see me?

Well I'm off to bed so I can start fresh in the morning.
Have a great night everyone

Sunday Scribblings - The Plan

Kass Andrya Nyx had a plan – The Plan. It was well thought out, easy to execute and a sure fire way to win over Anteros’s mother. It would be easy. All she had to do was walk into the great hall, find Aphrodite and put her feelings on display for all to see.
The white of the column lined passage hurt her light sensitive eyes, but she moved forward into the nest of venomous vipers better known as Mount Olympus. Here, among the painfully cruel, self-involved throng, she would express her deep and unending love for the son of Hephaestus and the Goddess of Love.
Anteros had sworn to her that the approval of the woman who’d done nothing more than bring him into this world meant little, but Kass knew immortality was a bitch at its best and hell at its worst. If they kept Aphrodite out of the loop where love was concerned, she had the means to turn their extended lifetimes into a slow crawl through purgatory.
In this world, it was up to her to appease her lover’s mother and so she would.
Voices boomed in laughter as she arrived. Some Gods played at besting each other with lava forged weapons, while others took turns amusing themselves at the bowl of souls. One life after another on the earth plane, or purgatory, broken at the whim of a God.
The screech of the sacred eagle heralded her arrival. The resulting quiet and collective gaze, threatened and unnerved her. She must, however, finish what she'd started.
“Aphrodite, I am Kass Andrya Nyx. ” She looked up at her would be mother-in-law from knees bent in supplication. “And I love your son.”
“What!” The Goddess thundered from her gilded throne.
“I promise, with my very soul to make Anteros a good wife and beg of you understanding and approval.” She further debased herself at the goddess’s feet.
The wicked warriors watched from their raised platforms as the seemingly gentle lady of love, ripped a hole in Kass’ heart with her poison coated words.
“Erinyes!” The Goddess spat the Greek term for the furies. “Daughter of Alecto, if I’m not mistaken. I would see my beloved Anteros dead before married to a dirty creature of the night. Be gone with you. Return to the underworld and whore yourself to the unclean masses.”
Their laughter overwhelmed. As she ran she realized, The Plan, had worked out about as well as catching a fly with a thunderbolt.

This Sunday's Scribbling prompt caught the eye of the angriest of the characters currently residing in my head and she couldn't resist playing. :)

I whip out my note pad and await her instructions...

I've been inundated lately by a character who has been with me for many years. She's happily lived in the back of my mind composing herself in order to tell her story the best way she knows how. She paces and swears on occasion. She's belligerent to all my other characters, but in a nice way if you can imagine that. They stay out of her way and she stays out of theirs. She has a lot of anger but does her level best to contain it or direct it into her work. I'm always careful to not piss her off as she is the type to not pick up her toys and go home but rather destroy them and leave with nary a kind word.

So when she decides it's time to share a bit about herself or her story, well I whip out the pad and await her instructions!

Today she graced me with just a snippet of info about her, but was cool with me sharing it. She'll be back, I know, I just hope it is sooner rather than later.

May I introduce, Kass Andrea Nyx.

As I scanned the sea of faces I wondered, what could you tell about a person from the outside any way? Some were white, some black, hell that dude there looked green—leave the bar a little sooner next time dude! No, you can’t really know someone from what they look like on the outside. I mean look at me. I’m quite tall–if you carry a lollipop and are from them merry old Land of Oz. I’m of average weight, average hair color, average features—I guess you could say that I’m less than extraordinary. On the outside that is, but on the inside well that’s a different story. When I feel like it come back and I’ll tell you something about me that would curl your toes and turn your hair white.

What, you doubt me? Well that was your first mistake…

A Startling Revelation!

Sometimes I love these, you know when a characters finally decides to be frank with you or when your singing along to one of your favorite songs and the words you always have to hum-i-na, hum-i-na, hum-i-na over suddenly become clear! woot...love those. However, the times when a stiff breeze reminds you that you put on your, well loved, shorts with no undies and left the house without changing...yep, those I hate.

Today's revelation was neither loved or hated, it was the frustrating one.

The past couple of writing days have been tough, and I've been unsure as to why? Was my head not in the game? Is the story off track? Do I just need to take a break away?

Sha-bang. Lightning struck today in the form of one more trip to the thesaurus!

What the heck, here I was trying to edit when I didn't even have the first draft down. Wanting every sentence perfect, every word the right one and I had yet to even get the idea on the paper.

Sheesh, no wonder this weeks been tough.

So I shut down the thesaurus and stepped away from the wip. Read a bit of Lover Avenged by J.R. Ward~loving it!~ then came back to the story, determined to get the idea on the page, no matter what word I used or how many times I used The~which was a really scary amount~ and guess what?

I finished the scene I was stuck on! Whod'ya thunk it!

Now I'm off, back to get down some more ideas!

Holy hiss-fest over Catwoman?

This is what it's been like, in my head of all places, for the last several days.

I've been working on the second book, The Submission, in my jag series and my hero's have been squabbling. About everything!! They each want the heroine to themselves, they each want the first scene in each chap, they both want to be the first to have sex with the heroine, want...want...want, me...me...me, pretty soon I'm gonna write a bull whip into LeAnn's hands and let her show them what Mistress Kitty learned in the circus!

LOL...Well that quieted them down! Now boys, here's how things are gonna go...

Silent and subdued, for now, maybe I'll actually get something done!
