Wednesday Word of the Day

Crepitate \KREP-i-teyt\, verb:
To make a crackling sound; crackle.

~I can see a grizzled old woman or a grouping of birds who crepitate.  Or, better yet, a group of dark birds who turn into grizzled old women who torment the "pure", but "pure" of what?  Hmmm~

Crepitate is from the Latin crepitare which meant “to rustle or chatter.”

  1. Wow, what a word. Crepitate reminds me of creepy, or being in a state of creepy. Good take on it.
