Crepitate \KREP-i-teyt\, verb:
To make a crackling sound; crackle.~I can see a grizzled old woman or a grouping of birds who crepitate. Or, better yet, a group of dark birds who turn into grizzled old women who torment the "pure", but "pure" of what? Hmmm~
Crepitate is from the Latin crepitare which meant “to rustle or chatter.”
Wow, what a word. Crepitate reminds me of creepy, or being in a state of creepy. Good take on it.
ReplyDeleteOh definitely creepy, Savanna. Perfect for a paranormal bad guy/gal! ;)
