1.
Informal . a small lie; fib.
2.

Origin:
Taradiddle  builds on the term diddle , "to cheat or swindle" or "a deception," however, the origin of the first element, tara , is uncertain. It entered English in the late 1700s.  dictionary.com

~What a fun word!  It sounds vaugly dirty, but can be used in public without appearing to be a potty mouth.  LOL

Let's see, using it in a sentence...

"Geez, Lily, it was just a taradiddle.  It certainly wasn't a whopper of a lie, heck, it doesn't even really count as a white one."
