Fabulous Friday Fotos...

[East Corridor, First Floor. Mosaic in domed lobby at head of stairway leading to ground floor, with quotation "Knowledge is power." Library of Congress Thomas Jefferson Building, Washington, D.C.] (LOC)

What a great picture...knowledge is definitely power and a library is a wonderful place to find such power! I've found so many great pictures over at the Library of Congress photo site and now they've added shots of the building itself...gorgeous!

Here's another I really like...

[Great Hall. View of first and second floors, with Minerva mosaic in background. Library of Congress Thomas Jefferson Building, Washington, D.C.] (LOC)

Can you see yourself decked to the nines in your fancy antique ballgown strolling across the marble floors and through the lovely white columns?

And finally, for the water lover inside me...

[Exterior view. Neptune Fountain by Roland Hinton Perry. Library of Congress Thomas Jefferson Building, Washington, D.C.] (LOC)

Barefoot, skirt held at my knees, splashing in the fountain. A perfect way to enjoy an warm, sunny day!

  1. Oh, those are fabulous pics. I'd love to visit and peruse. I need a portal where I can come and go.

That fountain looks stunning, and right of Atlantis legends.

  2. Me too, Savanna! A portal that would take us right there to quietly adore everything about the place would be heaven!
