A Bridge Collapse...

First let me say that my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone dealing with the aftermath of the I35 bridge collapse.....

I'm simply astounded at what has happened here. Mpls is for the most part a quiet city. Do we have crime? Of course, but certainly not on the same scale as the larger cities. Do we have to deal with earthquakes, hurricanes or tsunami's? No, the worst natural disasters we face are tornado's and flooding, but for each of those we have a little forewarning.

A collapsing bridge? Who would have ever thought it would happen...

I never did, but from now on, I will be very happy to get from one side of a bridge to the other safely.

Thankfully my family is all safe, but...

Remember...hug your loved ones often and tell them you love them every time the go out, it is a small thing that means so much.

  1. I have to say that I think the whole thing is just sickening. And that people knew of potential issues with the bridge - structural - I mean come on. If you think that something's not right in the structure it's only a matter of time before something as tragic as yesterday happens.

My thoughts are with everyone affect and their families and friends. Hopefully this is a lesson learned - if something's not right now matter if you think changes can wait for years (which is ridiculous btw) they should be changed when the potential issue is noticed - not wait until something as sad as yesterday happens.
